My favorite Danish brand, VIPP, is now releasing shelves for kitchen and bathroom.
How cool is that?!
The shelves are available in black and white and a width of 50 or 100 cm.
In stores from August.
I have many favorites in my kitchen. Actually, the whole room is my favorite room, especially now when a handsome minty mister has moved in. But there are some things in my kitchen that really stands out and gives me that special feeling, besides the minty mister obviously. What I`m talking about is the Bottle Grinders from Menu and the cutting boards from Fjellby. Always a topic of conversation when we have guests. The cutting boards are really like a piece of art and I use them almost every day. I have oiled mine with olive oil so that I can use them for greasy things like cheese, sushi and stuff like that. Just a tip.
I would like to dedicate this post to my friend Lise, the brain behind Fjellby and their amazing products. I know she is busy reading for her final exam, and craving to do something else than reading chemistry, so this is just me trying to cheer her up.

I`m so into nordic design. I guess I love the simplicity and the combo of form and function. My latest obsession is the amazing work of the talented Siren Elise Wilhelmsen. She is Norwegian, of course, and designs functional and sustainable products with personality and humour. My favorite is the one on the pictures above; Tvi tvi salt & pepper spinners. So cute and a bit nostalgic too. They are not in production yet, and I cross my fingers that they will be soon.
It`s been some beautiful and sunny days here lately. Sun means outdoor life and no time for blogging, but now when the rain is back I guess there will be some more updates. Btw, I use my Instagram a lot if you want to follow me there.
Happy monday!
Those of you who follow me on Instagram and Facebook have already seen the minty thing that has moved into our kitchen.
To make the boring story very short; few weeks ago our five years old LG fridge went crazy, and suddenly stopped working. So what do we do? We replace it with a SMEG of course.
I have always wanted a SMEG and to have it in my kitchen is just amazing.
I think I`ll be in my kitchen the rest of the week.
See ya.

I have a huge crush on Harry Bertoia`s Diamond lounge chair.
It`s just so fabulous and I think I have to have one.
Or maybe two.
The space might be an issue, but no worries, I can always find some space.
The question is: white or black?
Happy monday!

I wrote about a leather DIY I did in this post, and here it is.
My beloved Oiva tea pot from Marimekko got a leather handle, and I think it looks pretty cool.
This is a really simple DIY. Just cut a piece from a leather belt, drill holes and screw together.
I think I have to make a handle in black as well.
Just some quick photos from our dining place this saturday evening. Our dining place has been through some big changes, but it`s finally the way I want it to be. OK, pretty close. I think that this lamp will make it all perfect. The Masters chairs from Kartell are new, while the Magis chairs are old and from my favorite shop, Rom til Rom.
I hope you all are having a fab saturday!

A hint of mint is never a bad idea. I love this color. So refreshing and gets me in a real feel-good mood.
It`s actually no coincidence that I`m writing this post right now. Basically, I`m in a mint heaven. More about that some other day.
Right now it`s weekend, my favorite thing.
Happy weekend peeps!

Gratulerer med dagen! Håper alle har hatt en fin dag.
Her startet vi feiringen i går faktisk. Først lærbryllupsdag og så nasjonaldagen.
Mai er en fin måned.

A sneak peek on our latest project in the kitchen. The room that has been through most facelifts in our apartment, no doubt about that.
This project was really simple. I got a vision and my hubby made the vision real, like he always does.
The Marimekko Hetkïa photo is actually made of a tea towel and so is the NY skyline, while the black spot is painted directly on the wall with blackboard paint.
And we of course had to draw The Line to make it all perfect.
And yeah, the Masters chair is the latest addition to my chair collection. More pics coming soon.
Weekend time, my favorite thing!
Has anybody seen the dog and cat diary btw? If not, you should. It`s hilarious!
Happy weekend!

Just stopping by to show you this cute pillow case I won last week over at Nord Design. The pillow case is from DAY Home and comes with several quotes. I like it so much, and I`m moving it around from room to room just so I can look at it all the time. It fits perfectly in the bedroom, right?
Btw, the shop Nord Design is just amazing. It`s run by two sisters with passion for interior and beautiful items. In the shop you can buy handmade ceramics, different textiles and things for your office, just to mention some. I have a lot of things on my wishlist, for sure.
If you haven`t discovered the beautiful shop yet, you can do it here.
Wish you all a fab day!

Now that my blog is still so new, I just want to fill it up with loads of posts. I won`t do that, but I might go crazy now in the beginning.
You`re warned.
So here are some photos I was going to post on my old blog actually, but I never did.
Nothing special, just some food photos I shot for fun really.
I do that, a lot.
P.S. The food is of course made by me. OK, not the sushi. Still practicing.

Clothing racks and rails seems to be a huge thing right now.
I`ve been looking for one for some time now, since my wedding three years ago actually.
I think my wedding dress is too pretty to be in a box under the bed, so I want to put it on display in our bedroom.
The two first ones are from Ikea, while the two last ones are from the amazingly talented Annaleena.
I think that the round one might be exactly what I was looking for.
I love leather shoes and leather handbags, but I`ve never been that into leather interiors. Until now. It`s still growing on me, but I`ve actually already made something here at home with leather. And it`s not a magazine holder of belts, peeps. I`ll show you later.
Some of the items above are great inspiration for DIY`s btw. The leather candle holder is just so cool and I actually might try and make one myself. And the leather bag that looks like a brown paper bag is so on my wish list. Not to talk about the pouf, or the mirror. OK, I want it all.
Do you like leather?

A new gadget for my office. It`s a handset for mobile phones, and I love the whole cool&retro style. The most important is that it eliminates up to 99 % of radiation compared to direct use of mobile phones. I bought mine in UK, but you can find them almost everywhere these days, like here.
As you may have noticed, there is no follow-via-google-bar here on my new blog. The reason? Because the whole apperance of it is just ugly and will ruin the clean look I like. I`m weird, I know. However, in the side menu on your left side, there are several other ways you can follow nordic leaves.
Facebook, Bloglovin, Tumblr and you can also email me at mail@nordicleaves.com.
Btw, thank you all for the sweet comments about my new page. It means a lot.

Photo: siebensachen
I`ve just discovered the German siebensachen by Adam + Harborth, and I love everything they stand for. So many beautiful objects, and some of my favorites are presented above.
The music box, Mozartkugeln, is a real eye candy, and according to the New York Times it`s a must-have. No wonder that the objects can be found in design shops like MoMA NY.
I think I must have both the Uptodate calendar and the Mozartkuglen music box. ASAP.
